Nepal Airlines Finally Issues RFP for STOL Aircraft

I’ve lost count of the number of times that Nepal Airlines has talked about sourcing additional STOL aircraft to replace the troublesome (and grounded) Harbin Y-12 and supplement the two flyable Twin Otters in their fleet. So, it was a step forward that the airline has successfully issued an RFP on 22-Oct-2023 to acquire three suitable aircraft, and bids from all viable vendors must be received in Kathmandu by 05-Dec-2023.

Yeti Airlines sells 49% stake to Asian Insurance Company

Ahead of a planned IPO, the Sherpa family had sold a 49% interest in the loss making Yeti Airways and affiliate Tara Air. Asian Insurance will assume the day-to-day operations of the company, and have also installed Subhas Sapkota as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Has now received a branded livery for the resorts of the Jawakara Islands, in the Lhaviyani Atoll. The aircraft is seen below at Malé with thanks to Bassam Ahmed for the contribution.

929 - DHC-6-400 B-10GE Reignwood Air, Beijing

Re-registered A3-KLT and flew Tianjin-Binhai - Manila-Aquino 24-Oct-2023, and is expected to continue to Darwin, NT and Wagga Wagga, NSW in the coming days. Following repainting in Wagga Wagga, it is planned to depart to Sydney, NSW, Norfolk Island and be handed over to Lulutai Airlines at Tongatapu-Fua’amotu.
