Gravitas Aviation Announces Sale of DHC-6-400 MSN 895

Vancouver-based Twin Otter specialists Gravitas Aviation has last week announced the sale of DHC-6-400 MSN 895 C-FBGY. The aircraft has been acquired by Montrose Global Aircraft Leasing, and will be placed with Tropicair in Papua New Guinea on lease. Following ferry tank installation, the aircraft departed Springbank, AB today, under the care of World Wide Ferry.

Twin Otter Operator Osprey Wings Finds Buyer

Osprey Wings, the northern Saskatchewan operator of DHC-2, DHC-3 and DHC-6 aircraft has entered into an agreement for sale with a currently undisclosed buyer. The transaction is expected to close by next month, which will allow the carrier to resume operations for the summer season.

Who am I?

Seen below are two DHC-6-300 Twin Otters, at La Ceiba, Honduras on 01-Dec-1999, photographed by Tim Spearman. The aircraft are operated by Isleña de Inversiones S.A. They are registered HR-IBE and HR-IBF and feature the TACA Group livery (TACA took a minority stake in Isleña in 1998). There isn’t currently any known tie-up to MSN’s for either aircraft unfortunately, although they can be identified as being owned by Aeroperlas of Panama, another carrier which TACA had a stake in.

During the photo time period, Aeroperlas owned three Twin Otters in this specific livery, being MSN 269 (HP-1283APP), MSN 403 (HP-747APP), MSN 407 (HP-1283APP). All three aircraft ended up returning to Canada eventually, 269 and 407 to Rocky Mountain Aircraft, and 403 to Regent Aircraft Services.

Can anyone provide some clarity as to what HR-IBE and HR-IBF actually are?
