De Havilland Canada and flybig sign Purchase Agreement and Letter of Interest for new DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft

PARIS, France and CALGARY, Alberta, June 19, 2023 - Today, at the Paris International Air Show, De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (De Havilland Canada) and flybig signed a Purchase Agreement to acquire two Twin Otter Series 400 aircraft and a Letter of Interest to acquire 10 new DHC-6 Twin Otter® Classic 300-G™ aircraft.

“We are proud to welcome flybig as our first Twin Otter Series 400 operator in India, and for them to explore a potential future purchase of 10 new DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G aircraft,” said Brian Chafe, Chief Executive Officer, De Havilland Canada. “Helping connect remote communities is at the heart of what these aircraft are all about.”

Joining the current DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 400, the new DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G is the fifth generation of the Twin Otter aircraft. All DHC-6 Twin Otters carry passengers, transport VIPs, move cargo, conduct medivac operations, and perform special missions in the world’s most unforgiving environments. When mounted on amphibious floats, these aircraft move seamlessly between paved surfaces and water-landing areas.

De Havilland Canada and Zimex sign Purchase Agreement for two new DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G aircraft

PARIS, France, June 21, 2023 - Today, at the Paris International Air Show, De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (De Havilland Canada) and Zimex Aviation Ltd. (Zimex) signed a Purchase Agreement for Zimex to acquire two new DHC-6 Twin Otter® Classic 300-G™ aircraft.

“As the first operator of our DHC-6 Twin Otter 400 Series aircraft, we are delighted that Zimex will be among the first to fly the new Classic 300-G,” said Brian Chafe, Chief Executive Officer, De Havilland Canada. “With the same rugged airframe, the lighter weight Classic 300-G will deliver increased payload range and decreased operating costs for our customers. 320 - DHC-6-300 N322AV Aviation Management Sales Inc., Fort Pierce, FL [TVPX Aircraft Solutions Trustee]

Further to previous update, the aircraft flew Fort Pierce, FL - Sussex, VA - Bangor, ME - Ponta Delgada - Mahon - Aqaba - Al Ain 15/21-Jun-2023 on delivery to Manta Air. It was expected to continue on to Kudahuvadhoo the following day.

711 - DHC-6-300 C-GYMQ Rocky Mountain Aircraft, Springbank, AB [Beau Del Leasing Inc.]

Test flown from Springbank, AB 06/08/15-Jun-2023. It then flew Springbank, AB - Great Falls, MT - Rapid City, SD - Council Bluffs, IA - Cape Girardeau, MO - Thomaston, GA 21/23-Jun-2023.

C-GYMQ will fly for a Grenadian registered company, to fulfill the government backed essential services route from Grenada to Carriacou. It will be operated on their behalf by SVG Air of Saint Vincent.

733 - DHC-6-300 C-GKBG Kenn Borek Air Ltd., Calgary, AB

C-GKBG has completed its surveying mission in Peru, and returned to Canada. The aircraft flew Lima-Chavez - Guayaquil - Cali - David - San Salvador - Tapachula - Veracruz - McAllen, TX - Amarillo, TX - Casper, WY - Calgary-Int’l, AB 16/21-Jun-2023.

992 - DHC-6-400 C-FVAM Viking Air Ltd., Sidney, BC

Updating earlier entries, the aircraft flew Calgary-Int’l, AB - Seattle-Boeing Field, WA - Metropolitan Oakland, CA - Honolulu-Inouye, HI - Majuro - Guam 15/22-Jun-2023. The delivery flight is being undertaken by Sterling Pacific Air of Vernon, BC.
